National Artist Teacher Fellowship Criteria
The National Artist Teacher Fellowship were awarded to arts educators nationwide who served public arts high schools, Title 1 high schools, or Title 1 middle schools. Since 2005, twenty awards of $7,000 were bestowed to arts educators yearly to fulfill their fellowship process. Proposals not considered for the National Artist Teacher Fellowship were:

development of pedagogy

graduate study

curriculum building
Criteria for becoming a National Artist Teacher Fellow were:

be an arts educator assigned on faculty at a public arts high school, Title 1 high school or Title 1 middle school

be minimally in their fifth year of teaching, and
-
demonstrate excellence as both an artist and arts educator
